| Almost 3,000 attended -- and over 30 million viewed -- the lighting ceremony of the National Menorah on The Ellipse opposite the White House on Tuesday, December 4. Rabbi Abraham Shemtov, National Director of American Friends of Lubavitch joined Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey in lighting the National Menorah, together with Rabbi Levi Shemtov, Executive Vice President and Director, Washington Office of American Friends of Lubavitch. The Three Cantors (Jeffrey Nadel – Musical Director, Ari Klein, Schneur Zalman Baumgarten) were accompanied by “The President’s Own” US Marine Band. Hot latkes and donuts were served, and menorah kits distributed to guests. And, of course, Dreidelman made his special appearance. |
