Capitol Hill Chanukah Party

Hundreds of House and Senate staffers of both parties joined the Capitol Jewish Forum and friends in a celebration of Chanukah in the Senate Dirksen Office Building. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) was honored with lighting the menorah. US Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services, Dr. Tevi D. Troy, greeted the event, which he often attended and co-hosted when he was a Hill staffer. Capitol Jewish Forum President Shellie Bressler, Vice President Tom Kahn and Hon. Danny Meron, Congressional Minister at the Embassy of Israel, delivered greetings as well. Everyone had a great time meeting lots of staffers and other “Hill types”, playing games of dreidel, and enjoying drinks and refreshments (including strictly kosher hot latkes and doughnuts) provided by the US Senate Restaurant.
